SportPesa League: Posta Rangers, AFC Leopards share spoils in 2-2 draw
The 2-2 draw sent Posta Rangers to the top of the league standings, while Leopards were left frustrated, extending their winless start to the season.
Posta Rangers maintained their unbeaten run in the 2025/26 SportPesa League after staging a spirited comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against AFC Leopards in the second match of Friday’s doubleheader at Dandora Stadium.
AFC Leopards, still chasing their first win of the campaign, struck first in the 23rd minute when Kelly Madada tucked home the opener. The lead, however, lasted just ten minutes as Jackson Dwang restored parity for Posta Rangers with a composed finish.

Early in the second half, the visitors went ahead again through Samuel Ssenyonjo, who netted his first goal for Ingwe in the 49th minute to make it 2-1. But Posta, led by head coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo, showed resilience once more. With ten minutes to play, a scramble in the box from a corner saw Eliud Lokuwam pounce to secure a deserved equaliser for the mailmen.
The 2-2 draw sent Posta Rangers to the top of the league standings, while Leopards were left frustrated, extending their winless start to the season.
In the day’s earlier kickoff, Kakamega Homeboyz registered their first victory of the campaign after edging out Sofapaka 1-0, courtesy of a third-minute strike from new signing Josphat Lopaga.
The forward latched onto Eugene Ochieng’s delivery and coolly beat Sofapaka keeper Victor Kamungo, giving the visitors a dream start. Despite chances on both ends, with Douglas Kibet going close for Sofapaka and Lopaga almost doubling his tally, the solitary strike proved decisive.
Sofapaka pressed hard after the break, with Kibet and Donato Okello threatening, but the Homeboyz defence, marshalled by goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe, stood tall to protect the slender lead.
Substitutes Henry Omollo and Oliver Majaka could have sealed the game late on for the visitors, but their misses mattered little as Lopaga’s early goal carried the day.
The result eased early-season pressure on coach Patrick Odhiambo’s Homeboyz while Sofapaka, led by Ezekiel Akwana, were left counting missed opportunities as their wait for consistency continued.
